About the Ledger Room

The Ledger Room is a public library on Stacks testnet. The catalogue and every checkout are stored in a single Clarity contract: one map of books, one borrow function, one return function. There are no accounts, payments, or backend — availability is whatever the chain says it is.

How it works

  1. Connect a Stacks wallet (Leather or Xverse) — your address becomes your reader’s card.
  2. Borrow a book: the contract marks it checked out to your wallet and records the block height.
  3. Return it from My Books: only the borrowing wallet can return, so nobody can return someone else’s loan.
  4. Refresh any time — every status on the site is re-read from the contract, never kept locally.
